Not an exile, but I was linked here from a Reddit post and it looked interesting. I'm pretty disappointed in the Reddit mods, though it didn't affect me too much--I've tailored my main page to mostly academic/philosophical/discussion related material to filter out all the racism and asshattery that plagues the front page. There's still a surprising amount of good material there if you know where to look, but I feel like the large communities are just worthless.

I'm hoping JakobVirgil's comment about this scheme leading to fragmentation at larger scales is true. The biggest problem with reddit is that once a community reaches a certain size, it almost invariably loses quality as its content is diluted by garbage. A couple subreddits such as /r/askscience and /r/askhistorians avoided this by moderating heavily, but when you moderate news subreddits heavily you get extremely biased filters on your information.

Anyway, I dig the setup and the users seem pretty friendly. I hope an app comes out so I can waste more time here.
