Oh, that's f'in tragic. Here's my basic take - wearable computing isn't new tech. It's jus gotten less cumbersome. Thing is, though, the applications for it just haven't gotten compelling enough for people to put up with the bullshit. People sported cell phones even when they were suitcase-sized and crazy-stupid expensive - not a lot of people, but enough for the idea to catch on and miniaturize. Wearable computing, on the other hand, has been this thing that we might start doing one of these days sometime for no discernible reason because future, maaan. There are legit reasons for a heads-up display. There are even reasons for a wearable heads-up display. I don't think those reasons are as ubiquitous as Google does, though, and I think the ability to dial your phone without taking it out of your pocket is highly overrated. On the other hand, the notion of typing on your computer in VR is just kinda comical. So many of these whizbang GUI things are envisioned by people with no understanding of ergonomics and little to no interest in human factors engineering.
