On the consumer level, we've had:
- Waldoes since 1989 - Head-tracking since 2004 or so - 3d displays since 2000 - haptic feedback since 2003 ...yet nobody has rolled them all together because there's no interest and no application. Cadillac started researching head-up displays for cars back in the mid '70s. Mercedes put one in an SLK back in '02. That's the last we saw of them - because it's just not something we need or use.
