It does. It's not being intellectually honest in the argument. It gives a back door so that, if you do crush the other person's argument, they can escape out the door and claim they don't necessarily agree with the argument they posed. That being said, I think the D. A. can be a legit approach, if the person using it genuinely wants you to think about the other sides of the argument.
