Wow, that blew my mind. I wonder then if you look at a flashlight that's turned off, do your pupils constrict in anticipation?

So our pupils react almost instantly to what we think we see, rather than what we really see. This indicates the involvement of a higher brain function. The brain’s interpretation of the world is the basis for the extremely rapid shrinking of our pupils when illusory light is seen.

It's interesting to think that people can walk about, and be looking at qualitatively different worlds. Maybe the sun does actually shine brighter when you are in love.
