Probably I'd have to make a choice in the next month or so. My guess is that when the exhibition is coming to an end she'll say, "Hey, this cool piece wasn't sold, and Jerry is willing to part with it. You want?" Selling art isn't that easy, and when you buy at a cut rate from a gallery, there's normally an understanding that you will give them first right of refusal to buy it back from you, should you want to part with it. Otherwise, you're diluting the market for an artist who probably has worked pretty hard building a rep. If I bought it, it won't be so much for investment as for personal enjoyment. Also, landscaping sucks, and I hate it, but paying someone to do it sucks a lot, too.
