Well the different kinds of yoyoing are based on the style of play e.g. looping, string tricks, offstring, ect. I do whats called 1A or string tricks. It is the most poplar style of play. A high quality metal yoyo designed for those types of tricks are usually somewhere around $75 to $120. Although there are some high quality plastics that play very well and go for somewhere around $40. Looping yo-yos are much less expensive and usually range from about $10 to $25 and they are the traditional style of yoyo.
