FYI: I shared this article with my buddy Dr. Strangelove. He had this to say:
One patient was received from the wild into a US hospital and treated "successfully" to completion. Now, after monitoring all of the potential patient contacts, only a single new case has emerged. While I write you one ear is on the news, expecting several more cases. But, the window for people to have become sick from exposure to Thomas Duncan is almost closed. Also, hopefully, we know that this nurse hasn't infected anyone else, because she was warned of the danger and was on watch for the infection.
That said, there is a continued and growing risk that a mutant strain of Ebola virus might arise that can survive the measures that we currently think are adequate to contain it. If there were 5 or more cases now among the staff that treated Mr. Duncan, then I would be more concerned about that tham I am right now, tonight.
