The last day of winter is Sunday, and it's really bumming me out. Last year I spent eight days doing winter hikes. This year was just one. I think I want to try winter camping. It'll mean buying a lot more gear. A four season tent, a much warmer sleeping bag, a much bigger backpack, and tails for my snowshoes. Did I mention last week that I went in up to my chest in snow on my one hike this winter? That was new. I'll also need to figure out water in the winter. That probably means a new stove, replacing my very light solid fuel stove. I'll have to watch for spring sales on winter equipment.
