Yep, Croyde Bay faces the North Atlantic ocean. Honestly, during peak summer it was fine. On the most exceptional of days you could get away without a wetsuit and just wear board shorts and a rash vest. But most of the time we would wear a wetsuit.

But dude, you don't even know! We sometimes used to go to the same beach in December-February of all months. We would kit up in full wetsuit, boots, gloves, and hats and ride the frigid waves for an hour or two. My dad, who would join us on his body board - complete with flippers to aid in speedy paddling - used to look hilarious. Especially as he had to ditch his glasses too. Good times.
