It was a bit strange. We don't have a jury in our court rooms (The Netherlands) and I really wouldn't want that to happen. I think a trial becomes a clash of political views in stead of an unbiased research into the facts of the matter. Our play looked a bit like the british parliament with most of the male roles played by women. As a story it was fascinating enough, but to stage a jury room discussion is a bit boring on the image side of the production. I am a theatre technician and the only visuals that I could play with were clouds passing through the sunlight that shone through the windows and a video image of the defendant in his cell, projected on the closed blinds.
