I belong to a group of people who make - big - crazy - shit happen.

And we are tired of making silly shit happen for these people, and are going to apply our formidable talents to affecting public policy and politics.

Somewhere around 40-50 of us are getting together on Feb 12 to have a structured discussion and educational session on how to get deeply involved in public policy, running for public office, and developing legislation.

Some of the resources I have pulled together to consult with us on this event, are the former head of the WA State Democratic Party, the former head of the US Chamber of Commerce, Western Region, currently serving City Council members of two local cities, a Mayor-Appointed public servant, and two world-famous Futurists.

The idea is this:

"Many of us have been the beneficiaries of other people's hard work for too long. The Trumpsterfire and the type of thinking that brought him into office needs to be countered in the political arena by people with a healthier world-view, and a dedication to data, science, and reason."

Since many of us only have the vaguest notion of how politics and public policy work, our event - which we are calling Democracy...how? - will be kinda Civics 101 for the 40-50 year old set, with a set of practical steps forward to pursue on any of a number of issues.

So if someone wants to pursue healthcare reform, there will be a way to see what kind of healthcare regs are currently being considered at different levels of government, who to get involved with, etc.

We are also building out resource and conversation tools with Slack, and a secure web site, where we can talk, discuss, debate, and learn more about each of our particular areas of interest.

So yeah. That's what I'm work on, Pubski.
