The disgusting thing is, I understand where they're coming from. They can't pull that shit without proof that he's violating the terms of service, and if they aren't committing a crime, that's a lot harder to do. Meanwhile, their standards against hate speech are pretty clear.

And on the one hand, I want them to institute a policy along the lines of "as soon as we start paying a Youtuber a thousand bucks, we'll have a human watch their videos to make sure that humanity is not harmed by paying them." And on the other hand, I don't want Youtube determining what's harmful to humanity and what isn't. And then I remember that we created the Federal Communications Commission to deal with this shit, and then I'm reminded that the FCC is not going to be dealing with fuckall in anything like a positive manner for quite some time to come and I find myself agreeing with your friend.
