We'll tell our grandchildren "we used to make our own handsome faces".

I'm usually not on the side of techbros, but I do think LLMs and image/video stuff is some of the most disruptive technology to come along in about a decade, maybe more. But to be fair, I dunno why deepfakes haven't been more impactful, it's kind of a similar vein. Maybe the most exciting thing is the possibility that this will eventually destroy the internet by eventually feeding its outputs back into inputs until the web fractalizes into nesting outrage bubbles interspersed with fake cute animal .gifs.

Since I'm self-righteous, I'd like to think one of the last things it'll come for is physics and math. Like being able to publish something novel. I think an LLM's best chance would be going the experimental route, sifting through public-domain data and finding something the existing literature had missed. It might have the hardest time doing some of the hand-wavey stuff theorists do to get analytic results, when you need a deeeeeep understanding of exactly what the maths represent, or the motivation for using a certain approach or approximation, etc.

Anyway, I hope you are well. :)
