I see. In research, I see some ideas repeated with little scrutiny, and it seems with every iteration, others feel free to lean upon them with less justification. Even worse, they sometimes cite the idea as a weakness of a new finding that might contradict it. It's not until someone systematically challenges the idea that everyone can escape its influence and move forward with something more well-founded.
