Yeah, but a problem right now in Syria is that there are rebel-terrorists. It seems that some of the armed opposition, whom we would like to support, are also radical Islamists. What to do in that case? We seemed to have learned our lesson after supporting Bin Laden all those years, but here is another case where achieving one goal may induce an even bigger problem. I agree with you about the relativistic nature of morals (at least to a large extent). I think that most people will tell you that morals are absolute, but they themselves are unwitting moral relativists. There are almost no crimes that one couldn't think of an acceptable scenario in which the crime could be committed, whether it be theft, murder, etc. I can't, however, think of an instance when rape would be acceptable. That's why I say that I'm not a complete moral relativist. Societies in which rape is commonplace are barbaric, not just morally different.
