Ohoho, and I still find myself posting new stuff in that thread too. The problem with classical is that it's so huge. It spans centuries, and these modern times are filled with by far the most interesting and diverse sounds you'll ever hear ANYWHERE. It becomes a kind of obsession for me to hear new sounds that I've never heard before and it gives me perhaps something like the greatest joy possible to find a series of notes that just makes my brain light up like a Christmas tree because I'd never would have thought such a combination of sounds in that manner would work, much less work so well. Perhaps the only other place that's as interesting, to me at least, has to probably be ambient music, which is another pet project of mine that I keep track of (Although not as much as classical, which I feel has the greatest potential for innovation just because it's heavily formalized). I think more people should listen to ambient tunes. It's like staring down a vast precipice. It seems to go on forever, and the more you explore, the more... bizarre and amazing stuff you'll find just waiting to reward those adventurous enough to look really deep into it.
