Cocktails can be art and alchemy, not just a statement and/or a tasty way to get drunk.

I remember drinking a surprisingly ginger ale in Boston years ago. I wonder if it would suffice. According to Wikipedia, compared to ginger ale,: "Ginger beer, a similar soft drink, typically has a stronger flavor of ginger, and is less carbonated and less sweet."

I'm sure it doesn't beat the real deal, however.

I had a dream where I was standing in a kitchen with the actress Christina Ricci. In it, Christina showed me a drink that was a scotch on the rocks, plus a tablespoon of black coffee. I've had it. It is delicious, and I call it the Christina Ricci.
