After I graduated from high school everyone went there separate ways to different colleges across the state and country. Not me, I stayed in my home town and played in a rock band. I was 18, getting payed in beer and really enjoying myself. I lived at home with my parents until one day, my father told me it was time to "shit and get off the can".... meaning "move out". I applied to only one school, the University of Montana. They let me in.
Despite my families objections, I moved to Montana to go to school. My parents said they would pay for room and board if I stayed in Michigan but if I moved to MT, I would have to pay for it myself. I decided to go for it.
It didn't take but 3 months before I was so broke I nearly had to move back to Michigan. The only things of value that I owned were my guitar and amplifier. I had a Gibson Studio Les Paul and a Fender Super Reverb amp. Together, they were worth between 2 and 3 grand. In order to stay in Missoula, I sold them together to someone for only $1000.
I hated it. I still hate it. I can remember driving passed the house of the d-bag that bought them and seeing my guitar and amp in his living room through his front window, no joke. It was painful.
But.. I was able to stay in Montana and didn't have to move back to MI with my tail between my legs.
So how about you, any regrets? Or did you ever buy something from someone that was in a rough spot?
Just looking at the pic of this amp brings back so many memories.
