I was shown this game about a week ago and I've played about 6 games against different people since then. Watch the video for a very quick and simple tutorial.
What makes the game so intriguing is how many moves there are at each turn. Unlike chess where you can attempt to enumerate every good move and how your opponent would respond it's much harder to see everything that can happen. This is how the game was designed, with the purpose in mind that humans can be better than computers (for now). There is a bot v bot championship every year with a $10,000 prize. I will be trying to compete this year.
