I found this rock on the shore of Lake Superior on the Keweenaw Peninsula several years ago.
I only casually collect rocks. However, this one is my favorite as I have yet to find one like it. At first it seems somewhat unremarkable, but it appears to be a red rock shattered inside a white one. Both the red and white parts are very hard although I haven't tested them. I found it at the base of a red sandstone cliff, but the red portion of this rock is much harder than sandstone.
I'd love to know more about it, and how it formed.
#arockifound Let's do it.
