I am posing this question as a data imperative, what is the superior method of data storage the cloud or the external hard drive? Recently my third external hard drive crashed, launching me into a very uncomfortable position of having to weigh the value of what is essentially my collective history. My gut reaction tells me to just let it go and see this as an opportunity to start anew, having said that, where should I save this new start? My reservations about the cloud are that I am reliant on access to the internet and a network outside of my control to safeguard my data. Does anybody have advice/experience to offer?
