If you have ~50$ and some bandwidth to spare, please consider setting up a permanent Tor Relay using Raspberry Pi.
Tor network has many types of users, including people that live under heavy electronic surveillance (e.g. in Syria, China etc.); with Tor relays, you can help then gain free access to information without fear of censorship and repercussions.

A Raspberry Pi is a small computer that costs 35$ from Element14. You can also get a SD card with pre-installed OS that will help you get the relay up and running in 15 minutes. Other things you need are: i) microUSB-charger, ii) ethernet cable, iii) case (plastic, paper, or maybe lego?)
