Could be a computer background, phone, or your bedroom wall! Why did you choose this image? What does it show about you?
I love this one, and I did the same thing for ages - switched from a rotating desktop to this. Now I'm back to the rotating setup, because I don't see my desktop often enough and can't decide.
I still have the default background too. I view my desktop so little, that it really doesn't matter what my background is because I never see it.
Oh shit, that was so brave I got a cut from reading it ;D
Haha. Frankly I had not given a thought to customizing it, ever. I suppose it says that I care more about funciton than appearance. Or I have had to re-image my laptop so many times that I am uninterested in putting forth the effort (oh, what minimal effort!) to change it. I used to have this image for my background which I suppose says that I like cats, memes, and funny things. Sounds like a typical internetter to me.
For my personal account, I use some local graffiti from my neighborhood. Awesome Speed Racer piece on the side of a tire shop. (I really wish the dumpster wasn't there. Maybe I should try to move it and take a new photo.) And my work account on the same computer (I like to keep a separation of concerns), a mural from downtown.
This is awesome man. You should just add some graffiti to the dumpster! :D
Mine is usually a black screen 99% of the time. The 1% it isn't is something like: or or You might notice something: I really like the color blue. When wallbase had a functioning color picker, I used to look around for wallpapers that were blue and found some really dazzling stuff. These days I can't seem to get the color picker to work, and assume it's just broken or something.
It's interesting that you're able to recognize that. I never really am able to specify colors that I like.. I know when colors are appealing, but I never say, "Oh that's blue. I love blue." By any chance, do you usually notice details when attracted to someone? Like, eyebrows and lips? I just see "pretty face" and "nice body"
As a disclaimer, this is not an original. The image is from Craig Thompson's Habibi, which I highly recommend.
This is my current laptop wallpaper: It probably says how excited I am for the game (coming out this friday!). Usually though, my wallpaper isn't that. And it usually takes me forever to pick one. My wallpapers usually consist of a topic I'm interested in (anime, video games, or other). And I usually pick one that doesn't have a central focus on the image itself, doesn't include straight lines, but is still visually interesting. It takes forever to find one that I like. I used this one for a long time: link And this one was the first one I used on my new laptop: link But yea, usually my wallpapers consist of whatever I'm interested in (either at the moment or in general). So that usually involves the Zelda series, or some anime series I enjoyed. I've had some non-zelda/anime wallpapers as well, but they are few and far between :P
My one true love and his faded guitarist Jonny Greenwood. Thom Yorke is and was an inspiration since the day I first heard a Radiohead album. Originality, uniqueness, and open-minded curiosity are things I like to push myself to have, and Thom always reminds me to do that :)
Hell yeah, I recall an interview asking Thom why he left Radiohead for solo work/Atoms, and he had this dismissive look on his face and said, "It got boring.." The ability for an artist to say that about his own band, especially a prolific one like Radiohead, is just awesome. That's why he's still creating a brand new world after decades of music.
My desktop background is a rotating folder of many backgrounds. I have a wall. I love my wall. It's currently in a very different state, because this is an old photo and I am no longer in this room (this is like, three moves ago) but I don't have a camera decent enough to do it justice and some of the things are still there. The collection of poems on the bottom right are Chandler, given to me by a fantastic teacher who is now a friend. The photo in the middle was used on the cover of my book (and happens to be of my best friend's hand). The drawing in the top middle is a sketch done by Jeph Jacques, author of Questionable Content. The two tickets below it are to Big Day Out (the once-great music festival) and Paramore, I think (a concert I went to for a girl I had dated). The poem next to it is Koyczan's 6:59a: The wall has new additions now, and some things have been removed. I have posters from exhibitions I've worked. Some of my art's on the wall. All of it is relevant and important and personal, and the wall is what makes my room my home. More photos here
I love these, thank you so much for sharing. This poem caught my attention. I'm not sure what to make of it, it's beautiful, but the inner soldier-lover in me is a little offended. Either way, very powerful :) And you should love your wall, it's freakin sweet. I used to collect bottle/beer caps and stick em to my wall. Over time, I had a massive mural of unique caps scaling my bedroom wall. my mom threw em out one summer and said i was too grown up :'((((
It's one of my favourite poems, I think. Simple. Beautiful. Ah, thank you! I love it so much, and whenever I move it's one of the last things I take down, because my room without it isn't my room.
I so rarely see my desktop background and don't really change it. I used to try out really cool things like embedding a terminal with the cmatrix screensaver but my computers are so full with windows that it's just not worth it.
This made me laugh, thank you xD I feel weird having an active desktop background. I like when there's an image like its a sort of landscape, a setting.
<a href="http://imgur.com/MM5aatH> I really admired the guy that hucked his shew at GWB, a hero standing up for his nations honor. Thought this painting was charming.
Had this one for quite awhile now. I'm not even a Batman fan, I just really like the lonely and beautiful aspect of it. I find it strangely motivating, the whole "me against the world" thing.
Cool :) I saw an amazing collection of fan art, something like "Eerie superhero posters." reddit's blocked at school so I can't access it, but they all screamed "me against the world," I'll make sure to link it when i get home.
