I am an inept no talent artist in every sense of the word. (Except for found object art which I am good at.) But there was a time when I hosted a dinner party every week for about eight to ten. One day I was walking home and there was an art store that I had walked by hundreds of times but had never bothered to check it out. But this day I decided to. I ended up buying about $1,000 of brushes, canvases, oils, tools and an easel. So that week it became a rule at the dinner parties that you could not leave until you made a painting. It was amazing seeing what people came up with. Everyone got to take their creations home so I do not have any examples but whether they were good or not was irrelevant. It was creative and unexpected and fun. Here is the one example that I still have. Oils, Gin, tonic and doobie ash. Technically it is multimedium as there is a photo and part of a newspaper article buried somewhere under that oil. Yeah I already admitted I was no talent so....
That sounds like a lot of fun. I would love to attend a party like that. Hell, I may throw a party like that. Great idea
