    I don't know. I don't drink.

That's okay. We all have character flaws. :)

Edit: This cahacha does look kind of interesting. I don't know if I'd want to drink it straight though.

Cachaca is like really young rum. As such, some of it is good, some of it is wretched. The good stuff is difficult to find in the US, as is the truly wretched stuff; ten years ago my father purchased a bottle of cachaca in Sao Paolo that cost more for the bottle deposit than for the liquor in it.

It's good with fruit juice - mango, papaya, pineapple, etc.

Straight? As in - concentrated, undiluted with water?

Yeah. Straight. No dilution. No mixing. Nothing.

Straight-up/Up/Straight with white spirits like rum and vodka means chilled in a shaker with ice, or in a cooler, then poured without the ice. Neat means what you're thinking of.

Yeah. Neat is what I meant, though in my defense I've heard the term "straight" as in "straight out of the bottle."

Totally what people mean when they say straight, it's just one of those things people say. Who would really enjoy vodka at room temperature?

Who would really enjoy vodka at room temperature?

Russians.

user-inactivated  ·  3187 days ago  ·  link  ·

People don't drink vodka at room temperature in Russia. Those who do, don't have a room to drink in.

user-inactivated  ·  3188 days ago  ·  link  ·

Yeah, but room temperature in Russia is 29 degrees Fahrenheit.

Switch the scale, leave the number, and then you're just about right.
