Michael Laufer doesn’t have a life-threatening allergy to peanuts or bees. So he doesn’t need to carry an EpiPen, the automatic drug-injecting device that people with severe allergies stick into their thighs after accidental exposures.

I get the spirit, but... uh... there's a subtle difference between DIY vaping fluid and DIY life-saving steroids. I mean, if I needed an epi-pen I might roll that way. But if my daughter needed an epi-pen I'm whippin' out the credit card. Crushing liability is occasionally an asset.

In his defense, from the FAQ the use case they have in mind is people for whom whippin' out the credit card isn't an option, so DIY drugs from the Internet is an alternative to nothing, not to overpaying.

Don't get me wrong. I approve. And am glad I am not in a position of needing their ingenuity.
