Careful what you say here! It'll be traced back to your Facebook and your social security number and your reddit account you had five years ago where you wrote some comments on /r/trees.

I have other social media 'personas' which each correspond to a few accounts on social media. Having to maintain a complete disconnect between them feels really strange but I know that if I link to something I've made under one name from another account, they will then be 'linked' in the eyes of surveillance and anyone who cares to stalk me online. On the internet, you either share something with everyone or you don't share it at all. Sometimes I wish I never used this damn thing at all but I'm in too deep now!!!!

When managing separate facets of an online footprint requires enough attention and thought to detract from things you enjoy, social cooling rears its head once again. Especially if you expect to ever find yourself under any form of public fame/scrutiny (the same thing, nowadays).

Exactly. Fame is a risk. Best avoided, unless you want it.

I think I've always been gunning for it.

...And other generally vague statements. :/

That's fine! I think the problem is if it's thrust upon you when you're not ready for it.

"Too big to fall"? Ain't no such thing.

Not that I'm urging you to stop. Just - if you want to, a time to start is right now and a place to start is a step ahead.
