You've gotten me thinking about practical (i.e. non-panic inducing) advice they could feasibly give. I don't think they'd say nothing, but they certainly wouldn't tell everyone to evacuate, would they? Maybe? Depends on the estimated time to eruption. You'd need months to get everyone to safety even disregarding where they went. If they only had a week, maybe they'd start moving "important" people, perhaps take steps to safely shut down production (ag, mines, tech) and seal it so that we could dig it up later... Would make an interesting World War Z-style book.I can't possible imagine what they would say if there was cause for alarm: "Please exit these 17 states as quickly as possible..."
