Procedural generation is the one thing that worries me. The developer uses huge numbers like 18 quintillion planets, but how many millions of those planets are slight variations of other ones? I fear that after awhile you will begin to pick up on the patterns, and things will become a bit bland.

I mean look at games like Starbound which to a lesser degree is 2D No Man Sky. It has millions of planets, but many of those planets are just slight variations of the next. Many of the planets possess the same vegetation, and species ( there may be slight difference in color). I feel like this is just going to be one of those things you will really have to try.
