That "my Crayolas are in open rebellion" look was a big thing in like 2010, 2012 - Conde Nast even did a write-up about it and how they, yes, were absolutely trying to woo millennials with their "Ikea, but expensive" look. Fortunately for all involved, it was a blip. The ones that were leaning heavily into the style have already remodeled because they discovered that making your hotel look like an AirBnB doesn't make people stay with you instead of an AirBnB.
