Hey Scopplamina. First off, thanks for asking. We aren't much into porn or gore for the sake of titillation. There's plenty of support for that across the web, and it's not our goal to provide more. I enjoy the occasional NSFW content as much as anyone, but our goal here is to provide a different kind of experience.

I think there's some misinterpretation that Hubski is trying to do what Reddit does, but better. It's not the case. There is definitely some overlap in our goals, but it's far from complete. They have their mission, and we have ours. I don't want to be a replacement for Reddit.

If people do submit a lot of content that's outside of our focus, they will probably rack up a lot of ignores. If that happens, it's very possible that they will stop showing up in the global pages. In that case, your posts are only visible to those who follow you. This is a work in progress, and we have some plans to possibly add a toggle so that users that want to see globally ignored content can toggle it on. However, we haven't settled on the final implementation of ignoring yet. It's a little too crude, we think.

I hope that helps.

BTW, it's not a 'road', but it is a 'rhode'. Perhaps for a 'rhode' to be an island, it needn't be surrounded by water.
