My wife likes them. I think they are just ok. They taste like whatever sauce or spice you use, because it's pretty much skin, cartilage, and fat. Pig feet are also popular. I suppose they are in some places in the US too.
Cartilage is valued in Chinese cuisine. One of my favorite chicken dishes is sometimes served where instead of chicken meat, you just get the joints. I'm not a huge fan, but cartilage is good for you. I surprised that the industry was so surprised that it would be worth selling chicken feet. If there's a demand for it, there's a demand for it.
