If it weren't for the fact that the NSA currently grabs emails from anyone they want, I would feel like Gmail is a honeypot.

I use a Chromebook. I'm fully aware that the cost wasn't just in money.

The only way to prevent the NSA from getting your data is to go through your own ISP, and don't store any data on websites. Run your own email server, etc.

Worrying about the NSA is pointless. They just go for your ISP, which you can do nothing about.

Sad but true. It seems it is a question more likely to be fixed with a political answer, not a technological one. Unfortunately, I don't expect either to be forthcoming any time soon.
