This is a serious issue. You can't offer actionable medical advice or diagnosis without meeting certain standards. There are numerous valid reasons for this.

Having some experience in molecular biology, I wouldn't put much faith at all in 23andMe results, much less in their interpretations. However, many people will.

Yes, I basically formed a similar opinion when I took a DNA and Society course back in 2010 or so. Although my main problem is with any private DNA testing organization that tells people "where they are from" with significant accuracy, for reasons I've elaborated on before.

I think there is growing evidence that you could make a case against any private company getting involved in "telling the public" about their individual genomes. There is just too much exaggeration and outright fraudulent activity for anyone to trust it.
