con·tem·po·rar·y 1. living or occurring at the same time. 2. belonging to or occurring in the present. How the hell did you come to the conclusion that contemporary is a buzzword? If anything its the proper name for current architecture. Every architectural movement you named is historical, thus the name. Can't have a name that sums up the movement if it hasn't run its course yet can you? All the designs were done probably done for free, like every other architectural competition, so I agree that they are shit, but your complete ignorance of the realities of the projects just to put down the post doesn't help anybody.
Whatevs, yo. Having been on design teams for Olson Sundberg Kundig Allen, Miller Hull and Mahlum, I can confidently say that I have no obligation to "help anybody" when I see a catastrophe parading as vision. By the way, every architectural style was "contemporary" at one point or another. Most of them happened to be something else too.
