ScarJo? SodaStream? These are Super Bowl sideshows. Europe is where the real issues of economic action against the occupation take center stage.
SodaStream has made a habit of making rejected ads that go viral. They did it last year with great results. 5 million views, a lot of talk, and increasing stock prices followed. This year they did the same only ScarJo managed to stir up a much larger conversation about SodaStream. Was it her work with Oxfam that started this whole mess? Or is this the face and story that the BDS movement needed to bring their movement to the attention of consumers? Regardless, Birnbaum sounds like a whiny bitch, ScarJo comes off as a naive, sultry, whiny bitch and the only positive thing happening here is a few hundred Palestinian employees are making good money. Unfortunately, none of that is going to fix the political and economic mess and no one is going to remember this celebrity drama, or the larger issues surrounding it, in a month.
