Same here- I wonder if the people who comment regularly feel the same and just ignore that nagging voice that tells me "that comment isn't really very good"
Yeah. This is me pretty much every time I decide to click reply. Every once and a while something great comes out of my brain and makes up for it though. :P
I know I do, but I also make liberal use of the "edit" feature. What I like best about this place is that it's human. As such, it has pimples and sometimes farts. I mean, if you look at the badges people have given me, you'll see that some are for dumb things that I've said and mistakes that I've made. Anyway, there are a whole lot of examples of comments that were kind of flip or innocuous or banal that have sparked conversations and often, pretty good ones. To me, a willingness to engage in something is a willingness to learn and to try to understand, so I think that people who comment in that spirit really have nothing to worry about.
