Really? I take it you liked it the old way?

I did. Now I can never click on my hubwheel.

Keeping it orange was a reminder that I had messages that I needed to respond to. Also, admittedly, a bit of laziness; I always had messages I needed to respond to. I go through mass-dismissals every few weeks. Because my inbox is something I'm not good about. So now I don't have the reminder which may mean I may lag more (or not).

Me too. Therefore, the orange dot never gave me any information. I already know there's a backlog.

I requested this change, or something similar. Now when I see orange, it indicates a change of status. There's something new in there. I like it.

I'm a little different but similar to that, but I never dismiss my notifications. It's an easy way for me to keep track of conversations by keeping them all there.

What you you think of briandmyers' idea?

You could go orange-blue-gray : some unseen, some not dismissed, none.

You can't make everybody happy, mk, nor should you have to. It is not a bad idea, but don't wear yourself out trying to make sure everyone's copacetic. I had been aware most people wanted this function, and aware that my use of the inbox is off-the-norm.

I hdo the same thing and the suggested implementation would fix the issue

Interesting. Confusing, but useful if you understand it.
