"They (Americans) think we're killing each other. They think we can't go out to the corner. They're asking for U.S. military intervention in Venezuela. What madness! Should that happen, you and I will be out with a gun defending our territory."

From that it sounds like he thinks here in the US there are calls for military intervention in Venezuela...I'm pretty sure that qualifies as propaganda because I'm not hearing that at all...I may have missed something but these protests (and I suspect oil is why) get less attention than any of the others, especially Ukraine and Syria...

Yeah, that really surprised me too, since the bulk of what I see about Venezuela in the US is, "why can't we get coverage of Venezuela?"

As for the other thing, Ukraine's stability is very important for the EU and thus for the US. I'm still not clear on how the US fits in with Venezuela, but oil is certainly an issue.
