We do our best.

I can't say that Hubski's goal is to be a replacement for Reddit; however, Reddit has provided some experiences that have informed my philosophy and approach to Hubski.

My primary goal is (and has been) to create a place that otherwise wouldn't have existed, a place that I want to spend my time at. There is a glut of spaces that want your eyeballs at almost any cost, and many of those that have mandates regarding content envy the traffic of those that don't. I have no interest in that.

I am interested in making a place that people value because it appeals to them intellectually and because it meets or exceeds their expectations. The rest of the team shares this vision, and that's what motivates us.

That's a much better goal. As much as I'd like a reddit 2.0, that's not what's appealing about hubski. I'm a little tired of everyone coming here talking about how Hubski's their new reddit... I left that place for a reason!

Yeah, it's like hearing people that quit smoking, bitching about how disgusting they find cigarettes.

lets face it if it gets as popular as reddit is now then it'd be full of memes and /r/funny-esque content
