I wish I had more to say on this matter than "...oh shit." Does anyone have some context that they can add to this? From what I understand, the elections that had Morsi elected only had two options: Muslim Brotherhood, or the Military that had been running the place beforehand. Is this just a continuation of the same story, where the Military is doing everything it can to retain power? I also know that Egypt has/had mandatory military service, so it's hard to separate the military from the people because, in many ways they are one and the same.
