He went batshit on me for advocating one read up on something before jumping out and protesting it.
He was a knee-jerk liberal. You know, not the kind that puts a lot of thought into his convictions, but finds a cosmology and zeals the shit out of it? "Sympathy for the Devil" is blasphemy and by attempting to rationalize the mentality of the monster I required him to confront its human face. Quoth David Wong:Think of Osama Bin Laden. Something in you, just now, probably was offended by that. You think there's an effort to build sympathy for the murderous fuck. Isn't it strange how simply knowing random human facts about him immediately tugs at your sympathy strings? He comes closer to your Monkeysphere, he takes on dimension.
He was all over the place in that thread. He posted at least three top level comments that were inane madness, and then called this whole site "libertarian scum" for attempting to understand Cheney, which leads me to believe he never read anything he saw here because I doubt there are more than four libertarians on the whole of this site.
I often have to remind myself that you encounter far more children and mentally ill individuals on the Internet than you do in your daily life. And you never know who's drunk. He wasn't a child - he had a link to his blog in his profile. Drunk and/or mentally ill weren't off the table, though.
No evidence that he's a Vet, but might have been. He lived in Vermont or Maine in the woods, it seems. He was passionate about climate change and furious at climate change deniers. Came on intensely and left just as suddenly. I didn't get the impression that he was mentally ill, but now that I've read over his bits, I'd say yeah. It's okay to have strong opinions, but you can still act your age. He was wise to leave if this place made him so angry. Hubski isn't necessarily for everyone.
Only circumstantial. If I lived in Vermont in the woods I don't think I'd care what the internet thought. I'd go fishing and smoke a lot of weed, and eat maple syrup. And read. And write. Maybe dip a toe into Canada when I was feeling adventurous. Go to Acadia. Build a treehouse. Sleep outside in a hammock during summer.No evidence that he's a Vet
I call anybody that is older than me super-old.
I am not quite 25 and experiencing all the trite "quarter-life crises" that arise around that time, such as: "Should I buy a house? Is this the career I want? What should I do with my life?" but thankfully, I have also been engineering a lot of long-term plans. I believe insomniasexx and I are almost the same age. Edit: It will be my half-birthday sometime between April 30th and May 1st. So I am not really even not quite 25.
Should I buy a house? You can even ask that question? Wow. I'm impressed. I say definitely yes, then rent it out.
