Interested if there are any other flyers fans out there that have an opinion on this.
I personally think Umberger works better with Berube's line scheme emphasizing speed and fitness. Hartnell was a fantastic power-forward when Giroux and Jagr sould cycle together but we don't have that scheme anymore. Now Simmonds can move up to the first line and RJ can play on 2nd line offensive starts along with Braydon and Read.
Not a flyers fan by any means, but a giant NHL fan. This is definitely a win for Philly. Although their production is similar, I see Umberger as a guy who can make his teammates better, whereas Hartnell is a complement player. Also, Hartnell is a dirtbag, and I don't think that Columbus is going to benefit from the extra PIMs. The upside for Philly is the flexibility this gives them. Hartnell might be a bit better scorer than RJ, but RJ plays multiple positions, and plays on both special teams. It's a win for Hextall, IMO.
