Yes, the size is just humongous. But it looks spectacular on my Retina Macbook screen. kleinbl00, how are you liking your huge Oneplus One so far?

I'm super glad that they keep selling the Nexus 5. I'm still very happy with mine, performance and build quality is top notch. It's about as large a phone as I'll ever go, I think. If I'd pick a new phone now, I'd choose the new Moto X, which is the same size as the N5.

It's kind of hard for me to separate the OPO from, you know, Android... as this is my first experience with it. I ran Windows from 2002-2008 and my Hitachi G1000 was larger (and weighed twice as much). That said, it's a pretty cool little beastie. Only complaints are it's fucking huge and the WiFi seems to clog every now and then but I think that's more to blame with the router here than anything. Spec-wise, it's within inches of the Nexus 6. 5.5" vs 6", HD vs 2540xwhatever, 3100mAH batt vs 3220, same chip, same memory, bigger selfie camera. Which, you know, really f'n matters.

I almost went with this:

If I could have gotten it to work on a 4G network I might have. The whole thing has gotten ridiculous. T-Mobile had the misfortune of trying to sell me an iPhone 6+ for $200 down, $32 a month with a 2 year contract the same day Nissan tried to lease me a Versa for $500 down, $59 a month with a 2 year contract. That caused a stack overflow. Broke the iOS gene forever. Phones and cars should not be in the same neighborhood, budget-wise. So $350 all in for an unlocked Android running cyanogenmod? Sure, I'll give it a try.

Thing is, I used to Otterbox my phones anyway. I mean, shit, when they're $500 with a subsidy you wanna protect that shit. The OPO is in a $7 case with a $12 screen protector and as a result, it feels about the same size in my pocket. And I know that if I nuke it I can have another for about the same as the insurance deductible and shipping on my first few Windoze phones.

I'm no tech expert by any stretch of the imagination, but I threw down $350 for a Galaxy Nexus two years ago, which if you buy it directly from Google comes unlocked with no bloatware whatsoever. It was a great purchase. T-Mobile, at that time, was charging $60/mo for unlimited everything if you had an unlocked phone (I think they throttled your data after 2GB or something). Really can't beat that deal, if they still have it. I switched to iPhone when my company started footing the bill, because well, free is still better than $60/mo, even with strings attached. If I had to get my own phone again, I'd toss the iPhone 5 straight in the trash and go back to a Nexus any day.

$399 for a Nexus 5 32GB, $349 for a OPO 64GB.

We're $80/mo for 2 lines, 1GB. Works out to like $92 with taxes.

I was ready to buy a OnePlus One after hearing today's Nexus announcement. But apparently you have to prostitute yourself on their forums for weeks on end to get an exclusive invite for the privilege of spending your money on their product. So it costs less money but a whole lot of time and dignity... and leaves a nasty taste in my mouth, just like regular offline prostitution.

Naaah. You go to /r/oneplus, flair it up, post in a couple invite threads and wait for someone to give you one. It took me 48 hours.
