This drawing of the figures on the sculpture reaching down towards the murdered soldier seems to capture so much sadness in this pointless murder.

That was wonderful. The "you are home" posters made me a bit teary-eyed. It reminds me of the Ahmed Zaoui case in NZ. An Algerian refugee was detained as a suspected terrorist, causing a massive split in public opinion. He was ultimately released and given NZ residence (after several years in prison) and upon release he was included in the music video for Welcome Home — a song by a prominent Kiwi musician that's pretty much about how we're an immigrant country and we welcome all people.
I love that song so much. It came out just after I got my citizenship and I associate the two in my mind. I didn't realise Zaoui was in the video, thanks for that.
