As early as 1st grade I was often barred from recess because of flat refusal to do the work they expected of me, especially the mind-numbing math lessons. I'm glad I grew up before drugs were considered a viable resource for parents of all but the most unruly of children, because I've parlayed that attitude into a pretty cool career. I think that I may have turned out a lot different were I zombified at age 6.

I have a PhD in biophysics, and my research is focused on neural repair mechanisms, especially in stroke and brain tumor.

Grad or undergrad? Either way good luck. Tough but definitely rewarding if you stick with it.

Interesting. I read somewhere that mk also does research in brain tumors.

Well that would explain it. I was starting to think that everyone on hubski was a brain surgeon. :)
