There are a ton of indirect flights available when you want to go from the West Coast to Europe, and most of them go through O'Hare, JFK, Dulles or Newark. I'm so glad I don't have a transfer on my way back. Friend of mine will go Calgary > Las Vegas > JFK > Saint John just to save some bucks, the poor soul.
