I've wanted a thinkpad since I was around 12-13, when it was still IBM who made Thinkpads. I even put it on my Christmas list one year (I think the cheapest was around $2000) much to the amusement of my parents. I used to watch a tech show called Dave Chalk's Computer show and Dave had a free e-mail service on his website chalk.com which I used with the address thinkpad@chalk.com. Purchasing this laptop last year felt like making a childhood dream come true, even though it wasn't as powerful as the Macbook Pro I had previously purchased 4 years prior.
