I love the Moog sound, but if i was paying those kind of prices I would probably go for original pieces not remakes. I guess they're relying on the limited number being made to incite some kind of insane buying frenzy in people with too much money to spend on a modular synth. While they sound great and can make incredibly unique sounds, there is no recall, they take forever to patch and syncing it with anything is kind of a bitch. Also I kind of wonder if these will sound as different from the originals as the new minimoogs from the 1970s versions.
On a side note, they need to step it up and make a polyphonic synth.
Those are crazy prices. I've played a minimoog. They sound pretty nice but they're a bitch to have around, especially these days. Me? I like my Arturia plugins. For those that want their solder real not virtual, May I present Paia. Korg will also sell you an MS-20, although it's a bit more refined than the original.
I saw a free improv group use one of these once.
It was terrible
